Administrative Assistant - Charlotte, NC

We are seeking an outgoing, highly motivated, and organized individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant in our Charlotte corporate office. This position will be responsible for supporting the Company's Owners and Senior Managers, developing / maintaining databases, answering phones, and other project assistance.  Candidates should be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with various deadlines in a timely manner.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • General administrative support for Company Owners and Senior Management team 
  • Switchboard relief; to include greeting customers and guiding appointments
  • Travel arrangements and in-house meeting arrangement (catering, etc.)
  • Presentation support to include creating Power Point presentations
  • Order / approve all office supplies

We currently have an opening for a Part Time Equipment Delivery Driver in our Charleston, SC location.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Load & secure items for delivery

Mobile Service Technician - Charlottesville, VA 

Performing under minimal supervision, this position is responsible to perform on-site repairs and provide technical assistance on commercial products for golf, sports fields and grounds customers. As a customer-facing role, it is essential to provide outstanding, low effort experiences that contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty, resulting in high market share, and increased product and parts purchases. This position is responsible for maintaining parts inventory on a company provided vehicle, generating and meeting service revenue and profitability goals.

PREREQUISITES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Must possess clean driving record; pass background check, and drug test
  • Prefer 2-year Technical degree (or 5-years equivalent job experience)
  • Prefer specialized training in gas/diesel engine maintenance/ repair, hydraulics and electrical (12 v.) system diagnostics/repair
  • Prefer Turf equipment and turf grass management experience
  • Ability to occasionally travel overnight as required

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Consistently provide a low effort customer experience to internal and external customers by executing the skills of active listening, purposeful small talk, positive language, advocacy, alternative positioning and flexing to others’ personalities
  • Work closely with Technical Service Advisors to meet priority scheduled customer appointment promise dates
  • Work as a team with the Technical Service Advisors to ensure the right parts are ordered for service appointments to insure fixing it right the first time, quick turnaround time that creates a low effort customer experience
  • Utilizes the service management tools and systems to assist the service organization in meeting key customer satisfaction and loyalty goals.
  • Ensure that professionalism, Smith Turf & Irrigation brand standards and safety protocols are in compliance.

  • Manage service vehicle inventory for accuracy and obsolescence.
  • Responsible for diagnosing and performing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine (gas/diesel) repairs on commercial products.
  • Performs both simple and complex reel blade sharpening.
  • Responsible for providing proactive communication to customer on status of repairs
  • Perform mobile service call protocol on each service appointment (e.g. notify customer on arrival, validate/reconfirm the problem to fix, fix the problem, confirm repaired/satisfied, perform inspection checklists, ask/look/schedule addition work and complete paperwork onsite.)
  • Completes Repair Orders (RO) for each repair at the time of job completion. Records parts used, repair functions performed and time needed to perform repair functions with SRT codes and Failure codes.
  • Responsible for maintaining company and personal tools
  • Responsible to maintain, clean and safely operate the company provided service vehicle.
  • Responsible for proper tagging and identification of warranty parts required for retention.
  • Responsible on a weekly basis to pick up, return new, and warranty parts between customers and the appropriate service center.
  • Responsible for participating in continuous education as designated by supervisor.
  • Work as a team player to assist the overall productivity and efficiency of all team members on the road and in the shops.
  • Performing other duties as assigned Mobile Service Manager.

PERTINENT PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The nature of this job requires the employee to stand on his/her feet 70% or greater of the time. The ability to lift 75 pounds is required. Occasionally, lifting is done in an awkward and extended position.

 


Buyer/Planner - Charlotte, NC

We are seeking an outgoing individual to join our team to assist in the areas of inventory and supplier support, forecasting, tracking and reporting of key business metrics.  We need an individual, good with numbers, details and is able to multitask in a fast paced environment.   This individual will be in constant contact with our sales force, vendors, Accounting Department and managers.  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilize operating system and spreadsheets to analyze historical sales trends to ensure proper and consistent inventory flow from suppliers to customers
  • Place orders with existing suppliers, contact internal departments with information about supplier requests, and track incoming materials
  • Monitor EDI and Fax reports to make certain purchase orders where delivered to suppliers - update pricing, shipping dates, and availability in operating system
  • Develop and maintain all supplier files and their respective quotes, pricing, and communication to properly reflect supplier performance as it relates to delivered products
  • Maintain inventory at appropriate levels across all product lines and shift items around company to meet customer demands
  • Investigate and fix any supplier shipping errors and report discrepancies to requesting branch
  • Communicate daily with branch locations to learn customer trends and be able to anticipate requirements based on seasonality of assigned products
  • Correspond with Sales Managers to determine product movement and desired stocking categories
  • Work as part of the Purchasing Team and serve as a backup across all product categories

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of inventory / purchasing experience 
  • Experience with Epicor / Prophet 21 software preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Applications (Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of industry experience, with a high comfort level diagnosing and repairing 2/4 cycle engines. Must possess and have a working knowledge of both hydraulic and electrical diagnostics systems. Gas/diesel engine service and troubleshooting experience essential.

Must have proven background with diesel, electrical and hydraulic repairs.

We currently have an opening for a Counter Sales/Customer Service Representative at our Nashville, TN branch. This is a full-time, front-line sales position. The preferred candidate for this position should have 3-5 years of industry experience. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide our customers technical product assistance and advice for their equipment, parts, and related needs
  • Assist customers through the entire sales process of asking for the sale, order entry, pulling it, and helping the customer load the order
